Sitting on the deck of the beach house in florida making the chillest beat I’ve ever heard. I could do this forever.
A dead giant sea turtle washed up on the shore yesterday. It’s too big to move, so the vultures have found this week’s dinner. It’s too bad. There’s about 12 jellyfish too.
On a note that’s prolly funny to you, this gated community has just about 100% old wrinkly leather skinned old people. However, when you find the chicas my age far and few, they are damn fine.
I’ve been overthinking shit too much lately, as usual. About hip hop and life, and it’s contribution to mine for the long term, starting to lose hope on success and whatnot, but on the way to Florida I listened to the new Odd Future Tape Vol. 2, and it took but 2 bars from Earl Sweatshirt’s uncompromisable verse on the final track, “Oldie” for me to remember why we all do this.
Because we have messages, stories, memoirs, whatever you wanna call it. Because other people can’t dream of making art like this. Whether it be the beat, or the hard thick verses, it’s the most misinterpreted genre in the world.
But when it’s done successfully, you have an unparalleled description of reality or fantasy, unlike anything else on the airwaves.
Happy Spring Break.
